Kangaroo Mother Care: Rajasthan Navjaat Suraksha Yojana 2020 for Infants
Health Minister Rahul Sharma recently announced a new scheme called Navjaat Suraksha Yojana 2020 to provide medical benefits to the newborn babies. Under the Navjaat Suraksha Yojana 2020, babies who are prematurely born, or are born-malnourished or born with low birth weight will be given medical facilities by the Government of Rajasthan.
Navjaat Suraksha Yojana
To decrease the infant mortality rate of 35 deaths per 1000 live births, the Rajasthan Government launched Navjaat Suraksha Yojana. This scheme was launched by the Health Minister of Rajasthan, Department of Medical Health & Family Welfare, Government of Rajasthan on 9th February 2020.
Silent features of the Navjaat Suraksha Yojana
- Navjaat Suraksha Yojana 2020 scheme is formulated for babies who are either born prematurely or born with low birth weight, are born malnourished.
- Master trainers of Kangaroo Mother Care, a health care technique of neonates, will go to the district and block level to train healthcare staff for the state.
What is Kangaroo Mother Care
Kangaroo Mother Care is a health care technique for neonates to promote the health and well-being of infants. The state government of Rajasthan has decided to promote the Kangaroo Mother Care technique to reduce the infant mortality rate. The technique is also included in the Nirogi Rajasthan Campaign.
Kangaroo Mother Care technique is an effective and low-cost technique to save millions of lives. Rajasthan Government has decided to provide a proper guideline to the medical professionals of the state and nursing staff.
