Launched under the Ministry of Power and New & Renewable Energy, the objective of Kusum Scheme, also called as PM Solar Yojna, is to provide the extra income sources to the farmers of India. The Government of India is planning to promote solar power production and update the irrigation system of India. The implementation of Kusum Solar Scheme will give a boost to the production of solar energy wherein the government will change more than 3 crore Diesel and Petrol Fuel Stations with Solar Power Pumps.
Kusum Scheme 2020
In the recent union budget announcement made on 1st February 2020, the Finance Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government will make efforts to double the farmer’s income by 2022. PM Solar Yojana 2020 has a sharp focus on the development of the Agriculture sector.
The government has decided to expand the PM Solar Yojana benefits to 20 lakh farmers by setting up of solar pumps.
How to apply for Kusum Scheme?
To apply for Kusum Scheme 2020, the applicants must have Aadhaar Card, a bank account and a resident proof of the state.
Kusum Scheme Online Registration
- Visit the official website of KUSUM Yojana.
- Click on the Registration.
- Provide all the required details.
- Submit Aadhar Card Number and Aadhar linked Nationalized Bank Account Number
- Click Declaration and click on Submit button in the end
Once you successfully register under the Kisan Urja Yojana, the selected beneficiaries are directed to deposit the 10% cost of the Solar Pump Set to the suppliers approved by the department.
Once the subsidy amount is sanctioned, the Solar Pump Set is commissioned at the field within 90 to 120 days.
