The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), statutory authority and a government department, has issued directives to keep the Aaadhar Seva Kendra open for 7 days a week. Earlier, these Seva Kendras were closed mostly on Tuesdays. However, with the government department took this decision after seeing the increasing footfall of public at Aadhar Seva Kendra.
The Aadhar Seva Kendras have a capacity to process 1000 Adhaar enrolment and correction/update request per day. Similar to Passport Seva Kendra, one can book an online appointment at Aadhar Seva Kendras too. Although you can update some selected information directly on the UIDAI website, for a few updates, like photo and biometric data (fingerprints and iris scan) you need to visit the Aadhar Seva Kendra.
UIDAI is gradually expanding the list of Aadhar Seva Kendra across the country. In case, you do not find an Aadhar Seva Kendra in your city, you can go to the designated Aadhar Kendras being run by banks, post offices, BSNL customer care centres etc.
To locate these designated Aadhar centres, click on ‘Locate an enrolment centre’ link on UIDAI portal and fill the details – State, City, PIN code, locality etc.
